Just wondering?

Will there be another competition any time soon? Sounds like something I would like to have a go at - in the "Very much begginer / Complete idiot" section lol

Cheers

Well hopefully something will come up that we all can have a go at. I read through posting of the last one, quite liked how they did it with the begginnners, intermediate and advanced - thought that to be quite fair and good.

I can only say it's worth the effort putting your work out there!

It's a sad fact but the responce last time was pretty poor despite extending the closing date there were just 8 entries, if you compare this with competitions in the US which seem to be so well subscribed to!

I have recieved some excellent prizes for my efforts, sadly my entry peice has gone missing so probably will not ever see it again

But hey Sh!"!" happens & I got some goodies out of it!

So the guys at CPS, Please consider running another comp but maybe run it differently,

People can enter their piece via a photo (based on a theme but what ever media they choose Tshirts blanks, bike tanks), this can then be voted on, the winners of that round are then sent the blank to compete in the next round!
Haha.......I'm back!!!!

I think Moley has a good idea there.

1st round just submit a pic of your work.

2nd round can then be ran like the comp has been in the past, the people who got through from the first round get sent a blank to paint within a curtain time frame and then sent back to CPS for judging.

Of course its easy for us to come up with all this stuff when we are not the ones who have to organise it all lol :D

Always grateful for the comps when you run 'em guys, no matter how you run 'em ;)

Sorry Sam, we dropped the ball there, Moley your idea sounds like a good un.

Why don't you all submit ideas for another competition.

Mike Learns site has a good one - paint a tin - any tin!! check it out http://www.learnairbrush.com

could we maybe do something like that? have the theme as halloween get the stuff in by the end of October? Dont really need expensive prizes or out, Id compete just for the satisfaction of winning a comp, or even a gift certificate.

This has been playing on my mind about another comp but the way the postal strikes are creating havoc everywhere I fear that stuff will go missing and not arrive, like the last one.

It would work for the first part if we did it they way Moley and Svee suggested but if the second was like a Panel job I think we would all be stuffed.

Anyone got any other suggestions?

i think just posting a picture would be fine, with maybe your name, date & some mandatory text like "CPS paint comp" in the picture to validate the photo

maybe judge it a different way this year, i'm not a fan of the general poll

Off the wall idea for next year.
Have a weekend event, meet up with people from the forum, few beers, bit crack, have the competition as a focus ?
If there is enough notice, folk may fit it in with plans/work commitments .
Great to meet people, see work in the "flesh"

I personally would be willing to enter the competition if the final prize for the winner was nothing more than a certificate.
I think the idea of sending in a photograph of a piece on any material i.e. T-shirt, sign blank etc. with something in the picture to prove it was done for the competition as Spudgun suggested is a top idea.
I especially like the idea that the words "CPS Paint Comp" should make up part of the painting.
All we need is a theme and a closing date.

Send a PM to Del, although I know he is up to his OOPS in it at the moment with family stuff and the new shop.

What I did is to spend

Postby iamlove955 on Mon 09 Feb, 2009 3:26 pm

I have come across the same problem with u. What I did is to spend much more time to focus on it. Then finally I figure out the way to solve it. So what you need to do is concentration. Have a try.
